Welcome to Climate Corps Summer School 2025!


The Climate Corps (CC) is an initiative that brings together higher education institutions to take meaningful and practical action against the climate crisis.
The CC seeks to foster a collaborative platform across disciplines and institutions to promote knowledge sharing, spark innovative ideas, 
and drive the implementation of effective strategies to tackle the climate crisis.
It leverages the collective expertise, resources, and influence of member universities to develop impactful solutions.

We are excited to welcome students and faculty members of your institutions to share the same passion for climate solutions to Korea University, South Korea next summer. 

You are cordially invited to join the inaugural programme of Summer School in Seoul 2025!

Theme “Cross-border Collaboration to Address the Climate Crisis”.
 

Program Highlights

- Dates: July 6th -13th, 2025 (8 days)
- Activities: Lectures, group projects, seminars, research sharing and site visits
- Participating Institutions: 30+ universities from six continents
- Participants: Three undergraduate (junior/senior) or graduate students from each university; leading scholars in climate technology, innovation and policy
 

Key dates

- 31st December 2024:  Submission of confirmation of institution’s participation. Please use this link for confirmation 
- 31st January 2025: Submission of the final list participating faculty and/or students 
- 28th February 2025: Submission of the details of the participants
- 6th May 2025: Online orientation (zoom link TBC) 


The places are limited. Early confirmation will help you ensure the places for your institution. 
 

What we offer

- Opportunity for academics and students to learn about the latest research on climate technology, business and policy in South Korea and around the world
- Opportunity for academics to network with leading scholars 
- Opportunity for students to network with 100 + aspiring students around the world
- Opportunity for academics to connect with leading businesses interested in climate actions in South Korea
- Up to 2 credits for students
- Tuition fee for the programme participation
- 7-night half-board accommodation and at Korea University

Note: The airfare and travel insurance, subsistence cost are NOT included. 
 

Student Activities 

- Lectures: Delivered by scholars from member universities on topics like climate technology, business, and policy
- Group Projects: Research proposals, entrepreneurial project plans, and/or policy recommendations developed by diverse student teams, mentored by participating faculty members and local experts
- Field Trips: Outreach activities aimed at creating a tangible local impact
 

Faculty Activities 

- Research Meetings: Collaborative discussions on joint research projects and funding opportunities
- Industry Showcase and site visits: Engagement with leading local businesses and government agencies in Seoul

Desired Participants

The institution will select their participants at their discretion under the below guiding principle. Once selected, the final list of faculty and students must be shared for internal preparation.


1. Student selection criteria
     - Up to 3 students per institution 
     - Interested in climate tech, climate business or climate policy each (irrelevant  to their subject areas)
     - 3rd/4th undergraduate or postgraduate student
     - Passionate to learn and take actions for climate crisis
     - Open-minded and willing to mingle with the future leaders around the world 
     - Committed to travel to South Korea (visa, flight cost and travel insurance)

2. Academic faculty selection criteria 
     - Up to 1 faculty member per institution
     - Conducting representative climate/ sustainability research to share during the summer school
     - Actively seeking collaboration opportunities
     - Willing to look after the participating students from their institution e.g. mentoring, travelling
     - Committed to travel to South Korea (visa, flight cost and travel insurance)
